For the third consecutive year, the United States Adult Soccer Association, the governing body of adult soccer in the U.S., will webcast two championship games from its upcoming National Cup Finals 2008. The tournament, the biggest amateur soccer competition in the nation, will be held at the Starfire Sports Complex,
Seattle, WA, on August 8-10.
On Sunday, August 10, the Men’s Amateur Cup and Women’s U23 Cup finals will be available for online streaming through an audio webcast. The Women’s U23 will air live at 11:00 a.m. and the Men’s Amateur at 2:00 p.m., both Pacific Time. The audio webcast will be accessible from a link located on the top left corner of the USASA’s website – www.usasa.com. The audio webcast is made possible by Stretch Internet Communications, and Internet broadcasting company.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Stretch Internet Communications in order to webcast two of our National Cup Finals” said USASA National Administrator Stephanie Walker. “Our ultimate goal in the next 2-3 years is to be able to broadcast the games live on TV.”
The USASA National Cup Finals is the United States’ most prestigious soccer competition sought after by adult amateur teams. The premier amateur soccer clubs in the country are always participants of the national championship; teams from well respected clubs that have won national and regional titles as well as played in the U.S. Soccer’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup have gone through the USASA path.

Did you know these teams go through an extensive qualification process? It all starts off with approximately 250 teams across the country. Teams start qualifying at the state level, once the winners of each division have been declared, they move on to the Regional Cups. At this stage, state champions within each region face off to determine a regional champion. Along with the claim of being regional champions, these teams also earn the right to compete in the National Cups Finals for the distinction of national champions.
