The NY Greek Americans beat NYAC in the US Amateur State Final 4 – 2, in overtime (2 – 2 Regulation time) at Maritime College.
The Greek Americans went ahead in the first half, 2 – 0, on 2 goals by Tarek Smith. In the second half, NYAC evened the score. They put the equalizer 3 minutes before the end of the game. In overtime, the Greek Americans took control of the game again, scoring a goal on each half.
In the first half of overtime, Joe Afful put the Greek Americans in the front and in the second overtime, with almost no time left, Josh Trott scored for the final score, 4-2.
The NY Greek Americans will represent East NY on May 11th, against UMass State Amateur Champion at Home.
