Region I kicks off Men’s Amateur Cup Quarterfinals on Sunday, May 11. The following teams are scheduled to battle it out this weekend for a spot in the Region’s Semi-final to be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008.

German American Kickers (NJ) vs. Baltimore Colts FC (MD)
Grenhaus FC (DE) vs. SC Portuguese (CL)
United German Hungarian - Majors (Eastern PA) vs. Aegean Hawks (DC/VA)

Under 23 Cup Finals Set for July
Region I is taking entries for the Men’s & Women’s Under 23 Cup Finals that will take place on the weekend of July, 12 - 13, 2008 in northern
Philadelphia.
The format will be tournament play with group matches on Saturday, July 12, and the semifinals and finals on Sunday, July 13. The tournament will consist of no more than 16 teams with mini-games played through the group phase and semifinals. The finals will be full 90-minute matches with the possibility of overtime. The two regional winners will represent Region I in the USASA National Cups Finals which will be held on August 7 - 10 at the Starfire Sports Complex in
Seattle, Washington.
The number of teams allocated to each State Association/Regional or National League will depend upon the entries from each Association/League. State Associations and leagues have until June 2nd to accept entries. Each State Association and League must report their entries by June 4th to Region I Treasurer,
Tony Falcone at facciatosta@msn.com.
Upon collecting that information, the Cup Committee will determine how many entries each Organization will have eligible for the tournament. For those State Associations/Leagues that will need to put together qualifiers, the method used can be determined by the State Association/league. Qualifiers must be completed by June 29, 2008.
Eligibility for the Under 23 Cup are those players solely born on or after August 1, 1984.
