USASA Membership Services provides support to all USASA associations regarding member issues. In addition, it includes online registration and all related topics to educate all members concerning new registration procedures. Membership Services also oversees registration standards and policies, development and maintenance of programs such as The Referee & Coach of the Year and Fair Play Awards, and creates literature and information packets to help associations attract new membership and retain current members.

U.S. Soccer’s AGM Reminder
The U.S. Soccer’s 2009 Annual General Meeting will be held at the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida on March 13-14, 2009.
Online registrations will be accepted until March 6, 2009. After that date, all registration must take place on-site during the Annual General Meeting. You can download the tentative AGM schedule here.
In addition, the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA) is hosting a hospitality suite at approximately 9:00 pm (or after the scheduled dinner) on Saturday night. Please ask about this activity while at the AGM.

AGM Updates – Region IV Meeting Start Time Changed, Friday Evening Event Announced
The Region IV meeting start time at the AGM has been changed. On Friday, March 13th, the Region IV meeting will now commence at 9:00 AM instead of the previously scheduled 10:00 AM.
The meeting schedule in the AGM council book was printed before this change, so for those states in this region, please remind all of your attendees about the new start time. An updated schedule will be posted on our web site.
The Friday, March 13th AGM evening event has also been confirmed.
AGM registrants will have the opportunity to take in the Haramabe Village Street Festival at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including a buffet dinner and entertainment. Transportation will be provided to and from the event site and the hotel. Extra tickets will be available for purchase at registration. The price has not been finalized yet, but it is anticipated to be in the $75 range.

USASA would like to announce its newest program, the Recharge Team of the Year Award. The Recharge Team of the Year Award rewards teams for their outstanding service off the field through volunteer work, service projects, fundraisers and for promoting the game of soccer throughout their community.
USASA’s national office is now accepting nominations for the Team of the Year program which runs from August 1 – July 31 (November 1 – July 31 for the first year). A monthly winner will be selected from all nominations and the monthly winners will then compete with one another for the annual award. Monthly and annual winners will also be featured on USASA, Major League Soccer and Women’s Professional Soccer’s web sites. You may visit the Recharge Team of the Year page on USASA’s web site to fill out or download the nomination form as well as gather more details on the program and prizes.

The USASA Midyear Meeting and Workshops is being held at the San Antonio Marriot Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX, on October 9-12, 2008.
September 19th is the deadline for the standard registration rate of $125 for the 2008 Midyear Meeting. Starting September 20th, the price will go up to $150. Please register today at www.usasa.com under the Midyear Meeting 2008 page.

Ranch Experience with Texas Style BBQ
On Saturday evening, October 11, come join us for a ranch experience and Texas Style BBQ at the Enchanted Springs Ranch located just outside of San Antonio. Enchanted Springs Ranch is an 86-acre working ranch known for its rugged, natural beauty. The ranch also features an old western town right out of the 1800’s that was designed for Western Movies and has also been used in several TV films, commercials and music videos.
Upon arrival, guests will be able to stroll through town, shop at the trading post or pull up to the Silver Spur Saloon for a drink. Guests may also take a scenic tractor wagon ride throughout the ranch viewing longhorns, horses, buffalo, llamas, emus, zebras, catfish, deer and antelope. A traditional Texas BBQ dinner with all the fixings will be served later in the evening and a two or three-piece band will also be on hand to provide entertainment throughout the night.
This outing is tentatively scheduled for 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Transportation will be provided both ways.

Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to complete one of our membership surveys. We have had a great response rate so far and we will continue to keep the surveys open for a little while to allow for everybody’s voice to be heard. We are very excited to look over the results to see what we can do to better serve our members and affiliated associations. Please stay tuned for results and the announcement of the survey winners.

This is an official meeting notice and call for both proposed bylaw changes and agenda items for the 2008 Mid-Year Meeting. The Mid-Year Meeting will be held at the Marriott Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, on October 9-12. Registration will be made available online in early to mid July. The rates will be the same as last year ($100, $125, $150) depending on when you register. Hotel reservation information will also be provided shortly.
Deadlines:
Proposed amendments to the charter, bylaws or policies – 120 days before meeting – June 14, 2008 – submitted to the USASA Administrator.
Agenda Items – 60 days before meeting – August 13, 2008 – submitted to the USASA Administrator.

USASA.com Launches National Cups Page
USASA is pleased to announce that members and other soccer fans can now follow the action of the 2008 USASA National Cups and its regional qualifying rounds online at www.usasa.com.
For up-to-date scores, standings, schedules, field locations, team information and more, just click on the National Cups 2008 link in the top left corner of USASA’s homepage and you will be taken to the center of the National Cups coverage. Along with the tournament tracking feature, you will also find hotel information, deadline dates and all National Cups related articles.
As tournament details continue to come in, each division of each region will have its own page. For single elimination style tournaments, a list of the teams and a bracket will be displayed. Standings will be shown for those Regions using Pool Play. By clicking on a team’s name, you will be directed to the team page and within this section, you may find a logo, team photo, contacts, roster, uniform colors, official team website, schedules and standings.
Back on the division’s page, below the standings or list of teams, the complete schedule is made readily available for viewers. The schedule includes dates, times, teams and fields locations. If you click on the name of the field, you will be provided with an address and a Google map for the complex.
Scores will also be listed on the schedule and standings will adjust accordingly. One way that scores can be reported is through the phone-it-in feature. With the use of this feature, scores can be called in from the field and results will be updated on the website within minutes.
So when it comes time to follow your team or just the National Cups as a whole, be sure to check out the National Cups 2008 tournament page and stay dialed in to all of the action.
The USASA National Cups Finals 2008 will be held at Starfire Sports Complex, Seattle, Washington, on August 7-10.

The U.S. Adult Soccer Association is constantly searching for new programs that are both, suitable and relevant to the member’s needs. The Sustaining Membership Program is the newest addition of the organization, so we invite you to review such information and choose one of three membership levels offered within.
Sustaining Membership
This program is your chance to become part of the largest and most prestigious adult soccer association in the Nation. The United States Adult Soccer Association is also the only adult specific soccer association affiliated with the US Soccer Federation.
Membership once restricted to just players is now available for a yearly fee to all administrators, coaches, managers, referees, fans and other soccer supporters throughout the country. Registered players may also sign up for the USASA Sustaining Membership program.
USASA will be forever grateful to all of those who support the organization; therefore, members will not only receive the items listed below based on their level of donation, but they will have their name listed on www.usasa.com as a supporter of

There have also been a couple of updates to the tentative schedule for the AGM. There will now be an offsite luau on Friday, February 15, at 6:30 pm on Anaeho’omalu Bay. On Saturday at 4 pm, there will also be a meeting between USASA and the new women’s professional league to discuss partnership possibilities. Please keep these dates and times in mind if you are interested in attending. As new information comes in, we will keep you updated via email.
Promotional DVD’s
A few copies of the new USASA promotional DVD were mailed out to each association on the week of January 21. The DVD contains both an English and Spanish version. Both versions are approximately 7 minutes in length. The promotional video includes footage from various USASA tournaments and events, interviews with administrators and players, and also provides general information about what USASA has to offer.

Region IV Meeting and Workshops
Sean Rose and I will be attending the Region IV Meeting and Workshops in
San Diego on January 12-13 to present an online registration demo. We will also help states upload their information into the system, so please bring along a CD of your association’s player database. The database should be in Excel and a template or sample spreadsheet will be made available on the web site.
