ONTARIO, California (June 30, 2008) – Despite temperatures in the triple digits in Southern California, “the players have been extraordinary throughout the practices” said Aleks Mihailovic, Head Coach of the USASA Men’s National Team.
Elite Player Program Camp kicks off June 28
Three years ago, the original USASA Elite Player National Camp took place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. This year, the Camp is facing a slight change as the program was reformatted at the beginning of 2008.
Bowling Green to host Region II Cups Finals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 27, 2008) - Region II Cups Finals will gather over thirty women’s and men’s teams throughout the weekend of June 27-29, 2008. The championship, being held at Lovers Lane Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, will determine champions in the Under 23, Amateur, Over 30, and Open (only women’s) competitions.

(June 23, 2008) - Region I Cups qualifying came to a close on Sunday, June 22, as the Men’s and Women’s Open, Amateur and Over 30 finals were held at German Hungarian United Club, Oakford, Pennsylvania. Champions advance to the USASA National Finals to take place in Seattle on August 7-10.

(June 23, 2008) - After Hollywood United FC defeated the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division in the first round of the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the USASA’s Region IV team is scheduled to kick off the second round, this time facing the Seattle Sounders (USL First Division) on Tuesday, June 24.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 20, 2008) - Region III Men’s Under 23 Cup kicks off on June 20 and runs through Sunday, June 22, with participating teams from Florida, Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina. The regional tournament will take place at Georgia Soccer Park in East Point, GA. The winner will represent Region III at the National Cups Finals in August.

 Oakford, PA (June 3, 2008) - In the Amateur Cup Region I Semifinal, the German Hungarians were defeated by the Baltimore Colts 5-0 in Baltimore.
Jon Ports scored three goals while Bill Whittington had two for the Colts who will play in the Region I Final at the United German Hungarian Club in Oakford, PA.
