USASA’s National Cups Finals is fast approaching, as regional rounds of qualification are in the process of being completed. The prestigious USASA National Championship will be held at Starfire Sports Complex, Seattle, WA on August 7-10, 2008. Under 23, Amateur, Open and Over 30 divisions are available for both Men’s and Women’s at the Finals.
Region I Cups Finals (except Under 23) will be held at United German Hungarian Club, Oakford, Pennsylvania on June 22. A schedule for all tournaments and respective times has been created; click here to view the official rundown. Quarterfinals and semifinals are out of the way with the exception of Men’s Over 30; division which will play semifinals Sunday, June 8. Teams to fight for a berth include Christos/Colts FC (Maryland), Danbury United Over 30 (Connecticut), PA Rush (Eastern Pennsylvania) and Wallace FC (Delaware).
Under 23 Cup Finals will be held in Northern Philadelphia, PA on July 12-13, 2008. The format will be tournament play with group matches on Saturday, July 12, and the semifinals and finals on Sunday, July 13. The tournament will consist of no more than 16 teams with mini-games played through the group phase and semifinals. The finals will be full 90-minute matches with the possibility of overtime.
Region II is ready for its regional finals, as the tournament has been schedule for June 27-29. The games will be played at Lovers Lane Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Men’s and Women’s teams in the Under 23, Amateur, Open and Over 30 competitions will dispute for a spot in the National Finals when they meet face to face at the championship. Although the Open division completed its rounds of qualification leaving only two finalists: AAC Eagles and RWB Adria. Region III Finals took place on Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26) in Orange Park, Fla. However, the region is not over with rounds of qualification, as the Under 23 Cup is slated for June 20-22 in Atlanta, Georgia. Region III teams to attend the National Cups Finals in August are as follow;
Men’s Amateur: Kickers (Florida); Women’s Amateur: Turbo D’feeters (Texas).
Men’s Open: Galactics (Florida); Women’s Open: Dallas Sting (Texas).
Men’s Over 30: Kickers (Florida); Women’s Over 30: Houston Challengers (Texas).
Region IV celebrated championship finals on May 15-18 in Scottsdale, Arizona; location which will host the Under 23 Cup to be held at Scottsdale Sports Complex on June 6-8. Teams to represent Region IV at the National Finals in Seattle are as follow;
Men’s Amateur: Lazio (Utah); Women’s: Colorado Sporting Fire (Colorado).
Men’s Open: Arizona Sahuaros (NPSL). Women’s: Ajax (WPSL).
Men’s Over 30: Big Ballers (Arizona); Women’s Over 30: Forza (Washington).
