The USASA family expresses and gives its extended condolences to the Family of Jackie Martinez.

Martinez, 19, passed away in a car accident (Saturday, March 8) on Interstate 30 of Dallas, Texas.

“She was my only child and my best friend” said Jackie’s Mother, Amy Nanaeto.

Jackie was a member of the Women’s North Texas Select Team, as well as the USASA Women’s National Select Team. The later gave her the opportunity to play against Mexico’s National Team and Under 23 Team in the neighboring country.

“She had a phenomenal left foot. She was just extraordinary with the ball” stated Under 23 Women’s North Texas Select Team Coach, Joe Soliz, who was like a father to the nineteen-year-old.

About seven-hundred people gathered early this week to mourn her loss in Dallas.

Jackie Martinez gave birth to a baby boy named Elijah only five weeks ago. Nanaeto said that she will raise her grandchild, and that she will assure him a good life.
